A messy, cluttered, or grimy space leaves no room for clarity or new things. It most likely reflects your mental space, too. So spend some time walking around your living space and find ‘stuff’ to give away, sell, recycle or just throw out. In that process, you are distracted from your current stress, and you open up new areas that will allow the light to shine in. You can shine a new light on your living space, your mental space, your career, and your life.

Well, the profundity of that question is too much for us to actually handle in this tip so we’ll leave you all to think about that yourselves.

For this tip of the week our headline is ‘I Choose’. It is through my choice that I am empowered. The truth is that I have unlimited choices of what I choose.

Every little thing I do empowers me if I consciously acknowledge my choosing.

As an example, let’s consider Monday morning. I chose to get up and go to work vs. I hate getting up and going to work. The implication of ‘i hate getting up and going to work’ is that ‘I have to’. The thought ‘I choose’ vs. ‘I have to’ are worlds apart.

I got up anyway so there was already a choice that was made. Choice gives us an empowering context. I choose to get up. I choose to go to work. I choose to take conscious responsibillity for my choices. I am empowered out of this.

“I sound my barbaric yawp over the roofs of the world.” — Walt Whitman

Last week we talked about distraction as avoidance. We also promised that this week we will point out the difference between distraction as avoidance and distractions as signposts to a truer path.

So, how to distinguish the differences? It is My Money Doctors’ opinion that to distinguish the differences, one first needs to become aware of the task at hand. Are you stalling because the task is deemed too difficult, too cumbersome, too confusing? Are you feeling overwhelmed and discouraged (while perhaps refusing to acknowledge that), suddenly distractions manifest everywhere and you need to attend to them? If the result of being pulled by distractions is that nothing is getting done; and if after being distracted, you have the nagging feeling of guilt of not taking care of your original task, then those distractions are avoidances. One has fallen prey to procrastination.

If one feels the pull of something intriguing, and there’s a hunch that the task at hand is lacking its importance and urgency, then one perhaps needs to pay attention to the distractions. Your divine mind just may be telling you in that “small, still voice” that your calling lies beyond what you set out to do.

One way to help yourself to distinguish the difference is to pause when you become aware that you are distracted. That small step of not doing anything and just paying attention can point you in the right direction and action.

By Peiying Peng & Liz Zed

My Distractions Are Infinitely Clever

Have you noticed that whenever you need to do something suddenly your environment is screaming a thousand things that need taking care of and they’re all different from whatever you need to do? It will be anything but what you need to do. “Let’s go for coffee.” Wash the dishes. A terrific show you need to see. A book that begs to be read. Take out the garbage. Empty the closets. If it is an avoidance and not a distraction you won’t even do these things. It’s an Avoidance.

Distraction is exactly what it says it is. It’s something to take you away from the achievement of your goals. When distractions and avoidances rear their ugly head interestingly nothing really ends up getting done. There is often a sense of hanging out in empty space–in the void. There may be a sense of hopelessness. It is the ultimate success-killer.

It is important to become conscious of distractions. This is a first step to getting on a new track & completing our goals.

However, another consideration on this topic is that there are actually 2 points that warrant contemplation:

1. Ignore the distraction and focus on the task at hand.

2. To just let go of whatever is the goal. Put the focus of attention to the distractions because they could be signposts for whatever you need/ wherever you want to go.

So how do you distinguish those two? Watch for our next Tip of the Week.Next week we’ll talk about distractions as avoidance and distractions as signposts to a truer path.

While right now it seems that almost every day we are seeing that yet another giant institution bites the dust, we are equally sure that still there are individuals making money. We could say that they are seizing the opportunity hidden in adverse circumstances or a dire situation.

What is your opinion? While lots of others are losing money, do you think there are people making money today?

How will you position yourself for today’s market? How will you find your center and become like the wibbly-wobblie with the solid center that when pushed on from all directions will not fall down? Taking the cue from the wibblie-wobblie where’s your center in difficult circumstances?

We propose that there are three ways to change our circumstances:

1) by changing our thoughts,

2) by changing the images we hold in our minds, and

3) by changing our behavior.

Controlling these three areas of one’s inner world we choose the experiences that we have in our outer world. Changing in this way allows a receptivity to the clear message of Universal mind:

I am being taken care of and abundance is my Divine right.
