If you’ve ever noticed yourself feeling inadequate or irrelevant, you might want to also notice if you are making a victim of yourself. Are you prone to finding yourself trying to live up to the achievements of superstars?
Comparing ourselves with high-profilers–those who have made themselves names in the media–is an exercise fraught with failure. By comparing ourselves to those who have made extraordinary progress, when asking ourselves “Have I made progress?” is self-sabotaging to say the least.
Give yourself a break, and compare yourself to your own historical self instead. “How am I doing now, as compared to how I was doing 1,2,3,5, or 10 years ago?” is a much better question.
